Sunday was a little bit of a struggle as my father and I had downed a litre of Scotch Whisky - and considering neither of us drink Whisky and I hadn't sleapt in 48 hours that was a fine effort!
The weather was terrible so it was nice to sit around and chat. Dad and I went down the boat through a few lines in and managed to catch a dozen decent fish. My parents are worried I am too skinny so the food is getting shoved down my throat here haha tonight a massive plate of chicken, vegetable and pastry mince thing.
Monday Dad and I were up at 5:45am to take the boat out and get some blue manna crabs - unfortunately nothing but will try again. We headed out again in the evening and this time tried diving for them aswell as our traps - just one little one tonight but at least we know there is some there.
Dad had just got a new smoker so tonight we smoked lastnights catch and wow amazing I am hooked on this smoked fish now.
The next few days Mum and Dad were quite busy so I spent a bit of time with my Grandma, talking and cooking.
We made a bunch of FILO pastries for my sisters birthday that turned out very well but we had a heap of pastry leftover so we came up with a Moroccan style mince mix and made sausage rolls out of the remainder of the pastry. It's so nice to be spending time with my Grandma and learning a little about where I come from. I decided to cook up a big feed for her and show off on what I had learned in all my travels so far: starting with home made burgers, ginger bok choy and roasted veg. The whole meal was great and the best part was spending time with my Grandma!
