So the day has come and my month at home is at an end. I am full of mixed emotions and sadness having to say goodbye to my family. This month has truly been wonderful in every sense from seeing my sister get married, cooking with my Mother and Grandmother, drinks with mates, catch-ups with travelling friends, out fishing with my Dad and long nights around the BBQ and fire at Cheynes beach.
Australia is my home and will always be but for right now I must continue on my journey - it's hard to explain but there is a great force holding me here but an even greater force pulling me away.
I feel completely recharged and over my bout of food poisoning - Mum had aimed to feed me up and get me back up to around 70kgs whilst at home- she succeeded with some of the best food imaginable and a little shove when I needed it. I trained in the gym, I walked, I relaxed ready for my next adventure.
The drive up to Perth was quiet and we all facing the reality that we might not see each other for a long time!
And so there it is the hardest thing about endless travel is saying goodbye to the ones you love and the strangest thing the more time apart the stronger your bonds become.
As I sit at the airport awaiting my flight to Kuala Lumpur I try not to think too much of the last month as it would surely bring tears to my eyes instead I must be strong and excited for the journey ahead.
The plane trip was quite long and unfortunately I couldn't get any sleep but after 5 hours I arrived back to KL.
the plane was about 20 minutes late but at least I was able to get through customs and out of airport in about 10 minutes. I caught a bus to KL Sentral and then two trains out to my host Joys house - arriving at about 12:30am.
She had prepared a wonderful dinner of stirfry vegetables and a Philipino dish of soy chicken, chilli and potato - it hit the spot perfectly as I hadn't eaten since lunch time and was starving, tired and with a splitting headache! We sat up until about 2:30am chatting and getting to know each other - what a wonderful start to my next world traveling adventure!
