Home sweet home - after 23 months on the road and a bundle of amazing places, people and adventures I touch down back to where it all began.
The flight landed 10 minutes late and I was very excited to see my Mum & Dad and unfortunately things moved very slowly - I waited an hour at baggage drop and then luckily after declaring dried foods got cleared without checking.
Walking through there they were my Mum and Dad just as I had left them two years earlier :) I think my Mum and I walked extra fast for the big hug something I had been waiting for - for many months!
After a bit of a chat we headed to my sisters to meet her new husband to be Tony, all I can say is great bloke and I can see he loves my sister so I couldn't be any happier! They showed me there new place - absolutely beautiful, new pool just in and beautiful gardens, huge kitchen and spacious rooms!
Nikki whipped up some bacon & eggs, tomato, mushrooms, beans, toast the whole works and what a feast and all done without oil. It's so nice to be home with my family words can't express the feelings, I am however incredibly tired, sore but all that can wait - this is time for the family! The 4 hour car ride home goes very quickly and Mum and Dad decide to take me for a drive around - not a lot has changed a few new shops but very quiet compared to all these other busy cities I have been visiting.
We arrive home and the first thing I want to do is go and visit my Grandma. I walk over and so nice to see my Gran is looking very healthy and full of energy -something I was worried about!
We had a wonderful afternoon chatting and catching up on 2 years of gossip, we went and picked some fruit and then headed back to Mum and Dads for the first welcome home dinner. What a feast it was sirloin steak, sausages, garden salad, potato bake and garlic bread. Dad cracked open a 5 year old scotch Whisky and some very nice 2005 red wine. It wasn't long before I was quiet drunk and talking all my stories. It was really nice to be home, safe, well fed and in great company.
