Hangovers!! Getting out of bed was a struggle this morning and the cheap nasty liquor had certainly proved its worth. I had organized to meet the others at 9:30am so I made my way over to their hostel to find only one of them up and ready for another day of sightseeing. Turns out the others had continued on until well after 2am and were now also feeling it and having trouble getting out of bed. After sitting around for a few hours waiting for the others to drag themselfs out of bed I decided to go for a walk around the town and kill some time. Everyone decided to get bikes and head out to Punta Jesus Maria - a sandbar that you can walk on out into the lake; I decided I would stay in the town have lunch and then meet them all out there. For lunch I found this nice little resteraunt which was cooking the meat outback on a BBQ and had the deep-fried fish and salad for just over $1 - an absolute steal. I then decided I would walk out to meet the others as it was only 5km and I fancied the walk. The walk was really nice, walking through the outskirts of town I found a guy selling these condensed milk biscuits and another selling corn cakes so I brought a heap to take out for the others. After an hour I arrived at the turn off to Punta Jesus Maria and made my way down the beautiful old trek complete with overhanging branches and cows grazing peacefully in the paddocks. When I arrived I was quite impressed by the length of the sandbar and the nice scenario it created, however my friends were nowhere to be seen. I sat a while, wrote my blog and enjoyed the view of the volcano in the background. The walk back was just as nice as the walk out and luckily there was no rain which seems to come down 10 x a day here. In the evening when the others returned we all hung-out and worked out a plan for the next few days of travel. Basically the girls and Ronald will go to Granada tommorow whilst Luis and I will stay another day in Ometepe and hire dirt bikes to ride around the island and then on Thursday (Megs Birthday) night we will meet in Leon. We had a few drinks and hangout a while before I called it a night and headed back to the hostel. When I got back to the hostel the dam door was padlocked again so I had to call out to get let in - unbelievably the woman came out and didn't have the key explaining her husband had an he had left!!? I didn't know what the hell to do and so waited like an idiot in the cold infront of the hostel. After an hour the husband had still not returned and the lady could see I was getting annoyed and went and got a pole and hammer to try and break the lock - I asked her to stop and said I could try climbing up over the balcony thing again. I managed to get up and over but not without breaking a small tail and nearly falling - lucky I hadn't been drinking. It got my thinking though what the hell would happen if we had a fire and we were all locked in!!??
