Hi everyone and welcome to a jammed packed blog update. We have left the relaxing, Boozing and fishing of BrIsVegas (brisbane) behind, ok well maybe not the boozing, Bundaberg has become our favourite choice of drink. A cliche travelling thing in Australia.
Before we left Brisbane, we utalised phil's car and travelled to Byron Bay, Surfer's paradise and Noosa. We relaxed in Byron, taking in the views and checking out the lighthouse. We also had so excellent fish and chips.
We then stopped at Surfer's paradise on the way back from Byron, or should we say Cos Da Del Surfer, as it is the 18-30s holiday desticnation, for the chavy australians (whihc we have called the CHAVA's) However, the surfering as good (ironic!) and Amy bought some cheap boots for Laura and herself. (half the price than UK)
The following day we headed to Noosa to visit the many beautiful beaches. This is where Justin decided to show off his surfing skills on Phils surf board, managing to surf ZERO waves! He claimed the waves were not good enough, but he thought he looked 'super cool' walking up and down the beach, carrying the board. (These were his words not mine,if you ask me, he looked like an Englishman out of his deapth...literally!)
We made our way on the Greyhound ot Rainbow Beach,a quiet town, the gateway to Fraser Island, a very large sand bank with no roads. So we had to relunctanlty opt to go on a two day tour to see the island. As you know our last experience with Manuel Borat (the tour guide ffrom hell) has left us emotionally and mentally scared and the thought of another tour made us nervous. However........we had a blast!
We swam in creeks, freshwater lakes with exfoliating sand, trekked through the rainforest as well as taking in views at the end of 75 mile beach at Indain Head. To top it all off, we met some great people and had a proper crocodile dundee style tour guide. Rather than making a complaint, we have phoned to pay a compliament.
We are nowin Hervey Bay, ready to take the next step to Agnes Waters, where it will be the last oppotunity to take a surf lesson. Justin believeshe doesnot need a lessonas he looks 'super cool', however I have encouraged him to also look 'super cool' actually surfing!
Must dash as we have an hour walk back to the hostel. MacDonalds free WiFi has served us well once more.
Until next time (hopefully a bit sooner next time)
Love to all Bye Bye. xxx
PS. keep the messages coming as we like to know we are missed and you are jealous!
