Jus and Phil's Travels
Noosa
17th - 20th August
Noosa is renound for being an upmarket town and is often described as "The" place to be seen! Feeling too cool for "God's waiting room" (aka Hervey Bay), we knew where to go next! On our way South we stopped off at Rainbow Beach to learn some native skills, playing the didgeridoo and throwing a boomerang!
When in Noosa, the first thing we did was leave! Only temporarily, visiting Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo for the day. Unfortunately Steve wasn't home, but all the animals were, including loads of cute koalas and kangaroos and other strange ozzie creatures. There was a 5000 seater "Crocosseum", but unfortunately the shows weren't as full on as the croc farm. The highlight of our day was the Tiger Temple, where the trainers played with the big cats as if they were little cats, making them jump and swim in the viewing pond/pool (you'll see it in the pics!).
The second day in Noosa, guess what we left again! We spent the morning in Eumundi, meandering around the endless craft market, with didging and drumming providing an aboriginal atmosphere. In the afternoon we kayaked along the picturesque Noosa river.
Our last day in Noosa we spent wandering around the beautiful coastal National Park along well maintained paths - so no dead ends! Bumped into 2 girls, Laura and Emma from our Whitsunday trip along the way, who had a few funny stories to share!
