Jus and Phil's Travels
Mission Beach
28th - 31st July
We left Cairns for Mission Beach on the Oz Experience Bus, which turned out to be an action packed day! Our driver, "Cosmic" Dave, had verbal diahorrea, with his favourite phrase at the end of every sentence "It's all good!" and a chuckle. The first song he played was "Come to Australia, you might accidentally get Killed"! The bus was full of Brits, with a few Germans, French, Danish and a Canadian thrown into the mix. We detoured through the Atherton Tablelands and had a couple of swims, one in a volcanic lake and the other under Peter Andre's "Mysterious Girl" waterfall, which was absolutely freezing! Later on we visited an outback Croc farm, just in time for feeding, which was quite a show! We also saw our first live roo! At the end of the tour was an extreme hands-on experience with snakes and baby crocodiles... which Phil couldn't escape!
We arrived at Mission Beach, where we had roo for dinner again, it's really tasty! Our days at Mission were spent lazing on the infinitely long beach watching skydivers land a few feet away from us after their drop of 14000 feet! Don't worry we haven't gone crazy... yet!! One evening our bus group went and had a bonfire on the beach as it was most people's last night before moving on.
