Day 35 Auckland NZ
Woke up this morning and said to Phil, 'it's a bit grey out there isn't it? He said you'd better come and look, but make sure you're decent. Well I'm always that! Anyway, we'd docked right next to an apartment block, the lady opposite was laughing at our palm tree, how very dare she!
We had beautiful weather for walking around a city. First up was the Sky Tower, thought we'd get there before the rush, but there was no problem and hardly a queue. We paid our money and headed up to the skydeck viewing platform complete with a glass floor at 220m above the ground, wow, what a view we had. We went back to the lower level of 192 metres, just in time to see someone in a blue jump suit pass us by as he was sky jumping at 85kph!
In the afternoon we took a ferry to a little town called Devonport and had lunch in the Esplanade Hotel (well outside on the pavement actually).
From the brief snapshot we had of Auckland, I love it.So far, it's been my favourite place. BUT …. Sydney's next.
See you in two days!
