Day 33 Nuku 'Alofa, Tonga
Raining, raining, raining, oh and hot!
We went on a tour today around the island. On first look out this morning, we noticed a marked difference from Pago Pago, which was almost mountainous to a very flat island indeed. The air-conditioning on our bus worked a treat accept when it rained so we had to close the windows! We saw the royal palace, which is being modernised, the royal tomb and then went to the western side of the island where the waves crashed against the sea wall with some impressive blow holes. Later we had lunch in a 'resort', which comprised of suckling pig, fish and kebabs. Delicious. Back on the bus, we waved at all the locals coming out of school. We were back on board by 1.30pm where we stayed because of the torrential rain.
Two days at sea, then Auckland.
