After a long 7 hours (well 9 actually because the flight was delayed) I finally arrived into Christchurch at 00h45.? Feeling rubbish I treated myself to a taxi.? Got to my hostel (yes, my first hostel of the trip - all luxuries are now gone)? Staying at the Jailhouse just out of the city centre.? As the name suggests, it is an old prison.? The cells have been converted into rooms so you can imagine how tiny they are!?
I all have in my room are? bunk beds and a cabinet!? Talk about sparce!? The showers and toilets are upstairs and there is a kitchen (yeah, like I'm going to cook!)

Woke up around 9ish - good for me!? Checked out the showers - there's only 1!? Found a sneaky disabled one near my room.? Will use that until I get caught!

Had a walk into Christchurch city centre.? Not really much to do around here so glad i'm only staying 1 day.? Took a tour of the city on a tram - thought it would take around 30 mins at the least but took 10!? Had a walk around the botanic gardens and then went for lunch in the main square.? The weather is nice.? It's almost winter here so it's a bit like late September in the UK.

Found the information centre who were super helpful.? Have brought my bus ticket and have now finalised my itinerary for NZ.? Will get the train tomorrow (pick up at 7.45 - yikes!) to Greymouth.? Its meant to be one of the best train rides in the world for scenery and takes about 4 hours.? Then onto the bus to the Fox Glacier.? Then I spend the next few days at Fox Glacier, Mt Cook, Wanaka, Queenstown, Lake Tekapo and then back to Christchurch for my flight to Sydney.? Lots to early mornings so early to bed for me tonight!
