Right well it has been a fun couple of days. We left Hanoi on Sunday night and we got on an overnight train to Hue which was so luxurious and we had a mad French couple trying to swap rooms with us as they liked our room better. Managed to get some sleep although got woken up at 6.30am by opera singing blasting out of the speakers! Arrived in Hue early on Monday morning and it was pouring with rain. We had a 6 hour motorbike ride in the rain (finally found a place that rains more than UK!) which was hilarious. I was covered from head to to in a huge grey poncho - very stylish. All of the roads were flooded and the bike broke down half way through the knee deep water and I had to get off and wade through. Had a lovely vegetarian lunch at a nunnery which was surprisingly delicious. Our guide was a Vietnamese man who had a part Irish part cockney accent - it was the strangest thing I have ever heard!! Had a relatively early night with a few games of pool which despite trying so hard I am still crap at!
Left Hue this morning and had a 4 hour bus ride to Hoi An. Arrived at lunctime and had a really tasting lunch at Blue Dragon which is a charitable organisation (kind of like Jamie Oliver's 15) Might do a Vietnamese cooking class at the restaurant tomorrow which I'm looking forward to. Hoi An is a nice small town but the locals are bloody annoying. They follow you everywhere and all ask you the same questions trying to get you to buy from their shop. We spent the day looking in tailors and I ended up getting a dress made for 10 pounds!! I've got a fitting tomorrow so hope it doesn't look like a sack. Off to explore in a bit to find somewhere to have dinner. Have 2 more days here so will write more in a couple of days. Bye for now xx
