Well I am officially on the last leg of my trip and it is going to be brilliant but exhausting! Met the rest of my tour group last night who are all really nice - there is a Canadian couple on an 8 month honeymoon (definitely the way forward, all I need is a groom!!!), a South African guy (not another one!) a lovely Danish girl who I am sharing a room with, and our Peruvian guide Roberto. It is actually a really nice small group. Left La Paz at 8 this morning and saw some stunning views of the city, it was a shame I didn't get to see more of it. Got a bus and stopped at Lake Titicaca (the highest lake in the world!) which is massive and so pretty. We then got a boat across to the other side and they put each bus on a wooden raft and float it across the river!!!! We then got a bus to Cobacabana and had a look around the town, which was pretty nice but quite touristy. Had a 3 course lunch for 1 pound 50p and it was delicious!! After lunch we crossed the border to Peru and then took a 3 hour bus ride to Puno. Am so glad I am doing a tour for my last 3 weeks as I don't have to think or plan anything and Roberto does everything for us - I felt like a celebrity being ushered past all the backpackers and into the waiting bus! Puno is a pretty small town and our hotel is really nice. Went for a walk around the town and then had a delicious traditional Peruvian dinner. Have been told all about the traditional Peruvian delicacy - the guinea pig! Having an early night tonight as have to leave at 7.30am tomorrow. We are staying with a family on Tarique island and bought rice, pasta, oil, jelly etc as gifts for them. Will write more when I get back on Friday xxx
