I woke up early after another cold night (I wore my hat in bed!)!and a possum visitation. I had my last camp breakfast whilst listening to and watching the birds, including a couple of swift parrots.
I packed up the car making sure all my camp gear was clean. My friend is very kindly taking it back to the UK to give me some luggage space. Some of the bugs were not keen on leaving my tent but I was not having any hitch hikers! Having packed I gave some items to the camp guardian and headed off for a shower only to find someone had beaten me to it. I made the most of it and went for a final beach walk before I left. I was very sad to leave, it's a great place.
The journey to Hobart was slow and I ended up running quite late to return the car. I had to dump some rubbish, fill the car up and dust the car down before I dropped it off. Having discussed and cleared the small rock induced scratch on the rear bumper I headed to my hotel by taxi. Hotel Collins upgraded me to a club room with harbour views, v nice!
I grabbed my city map, put it in my back pocket and headed into Hobart. I did some sight seeing around Salamanca Place and the waterfront. Then I hit the shops in search of an outfit for my little sisters wedding. Bingo! Cue at Myer came up with the goods and with a bit of help from a super glam assistant. I picked up some scrummy Camembert for supper from the local Wicked Cheese company and picked up some brochures to plan my next few days here.
