We woke up to some welcomed sunshine and blue sky this morning. Gary whipped up some bacon, poached eggs and muffins for brunch.
We took a stroll down to the waterfront and pottered around the arts and crafts market. I treated Gary to a Argillite pendant which we plan to convert into a bracelet for him, as they don't seem to do many here.
Gaz got some chips from Aggy's shack, which, he said yesterday, looked like a public loo! Anyhow, he was chuffed to bits as for the first time in NZ he got salt AND vinegar on them.
We strolled around the lovely Queenstown Gardens, saw people playing frisbee gold and had a snooze in the sun in a sheltered spot. After walking back into town we hopped in the car and headed out of town to see the original bungy jump. We were surprised at how big the setup was and found out that 190 people had jumped today.. Not bad business at £100 a jump!
We came back to queenstown via the heritage village of Arrowtown. This gorgeous village was built on the gold trade and still has lots of original buildings. We had a beer/cider in the sun at The Old Stables and got some Creme brûlée fudge from the Remarkable Sweet Shop. I tried the marmite fudge but thought I'd save Gaz from the pain of smelling it whilst I chomped through a block of it. Plus, it tasted odd!
On getting back to our accommodation we had a nose around one of the penthouses that we'd been given the key to, so we could use their laundry... Very nice!
Gary cooked noodles in Superwok and he watched a film whilst we chilled on our Sat night in.
