Another rude awakening from the cockatoos. I had a quiet cuppa with Steve before the others woke up.
We were all interested to watch Byron this morning as he shed his skin for the first time and looked more bearded than before.
Through a bout of lightheaded and queasiness I packed up and we all piled into the car to head south to the Garrods. I am truly indebted to Steve and family for being kind and driving me two hours south to Naomi and Clint's house. Maybe they wanted to make sure I'd really gone?!
If I hadn't seen Steve for a long time then him and Nao (we all shared a house whilst at Liverpool Uni in the late 1990's) hadn't seen one another for an eternity! In the mean time both of them had married and produced offspring! We caught up over a lovely BBQ hosted by the Garrods, on the balcony of their Burrill Lake house, with good sea views.
I said goodbye to the Wardles as they headed off for a dip in the sea before going home. Steve and I agreed that we shouldn't leave it another 12 years before meeting up again and I'm going to hold him to it!
It was so lovely to see Nao, Clint and Ayesha in their home. It was good to see Jus, Nao's sister who was visiting too. Ayesha has come on leaps and bounds since I saw her in the UK last July. Nao, Ayesha and I went for a walk to the beach via the headland. Kodi (the dog) thought chasing Ayesha was great fun, especially as she was holding a good stick! Our timing wasn't great and we were caught in the first rain since Christmas!
We had a fab curry from the new/only Indian in Ulladulla, which lived up to the positive reviews from locals. I retired to sleep in my lovely room downstairs in this upside down house... well, we are in Australia!
