Another overcast day! This is not quite what I had expected in Aus, but rain is good!
After brekkie etc (including a bit of bird spotting from the balcony) Nao, Ayesha and I drove into Ulladulla and did the Aboriginal walk across the headland north of the centre. This bush walk had various stops with carved wood plaques describing aboriginal life. Ayesha was a fan of the fishes! We also got to take in some good views of a very (and apparently, unusually) calm sea. I saw my first kookaburras and Rosellas.
On the way back to the house we stopped to pick up some lunch and got some fresh juices. Mine was a blood booster, which had beetroot, ginger, carrot and apple. Ayesha wasn't so impressed with my juice as she was with her Mum's tropical one with pineapple!
We all had a pretty lazy afternoon and I watched some of the Australian Open which is currently being held in Melbourne.
Late afternoon Nao drove us to Merry Beach (great names for places here!) and I got to see my first wild roo! In fact, I saw loads of them. I was surprised at how small they were until Nin reminded me of the red ones, which is clearly what I had imagined. We took a stroll on the beach and Ayesha got soaked! We looked at some odd shell things, which were attached to rocks and had 'arms' that waved out from them. We also had a mooch around some rock pools and came across a feisty crab that snapped in the direction of Ayesha, which made her jump! On the way back we stopped to look closer at the roos. There were some other children who were feeding them and they kindly gave some food to Ayesha who had been trying to pat them.
Clint was back when we got home and we tucked into a tasty plate of meatballs and pasta, accompanied by a slightly odd sparkling white that I had bought. We settled down to watch an excellent tennis match between the bird (Djokovic) and Rinky (Wawrinka).
