Day 67 Thursday 17/10 18 deg Sunny > Day 88 Wednesday 7/11 10 deg Sunny
Met Louise at her hotel Royal National at Bedford Way Russell Square and wished her well for her Contiki tour of Europe from 19/10 > 3/11.
We have been to a great satirical show by the Canal Café Theatre - News Review which has been running since 1979, a great gig. Also catching up on movies Diana, Captain Phillips, Blue Jasmine, Rush story of James Hunt and Niki Lauda, John saw Ender's Game and I saw One Chance about the opera singer Paul Potts who won Britain's Got Talent in 2007.
On the 20/10 we went to Sculptures in the Garden at Regents Park, however the rain came down just after we arrived and made it quite unpleasant, so we headed for home and of course the weather cleared.
John was kept busy for a few days building a bed storage cabinet for Jen and Jon which was designed by them.
We had fun at an Adventure Quiz at the local pub with Jen and Jon 21/10 and won a bottle of Aussie red.
We have been doing many walks of the area up to Notting Hill where we are doing Yoga at The Life Centre and the Thames Path. We have been to the Portobello Markets which are spread over a quite a distance. At Notting Hill I popped into Jamie Oliver's shop for a look and bought a Salted Chocolate Caramel slice and an Apple & Beetroot cake.
We went to the British Natural History Museum 25/10 for a photography exhibition on Wildlife with Jen and Jon, which was extraordinary.
We have enjoyed shopping at Oxford Street, Kensington High Street and Westfield London which we can walk to and is a great centre, it is also where we got to the movies.
Recently we had a local pub Sunday roast lunch with Jen and Jon and Jon's parents Margie and Glenn in Brook Green, and I have never seen so much food on one plate. Glenn opted for the 15 minute Burger challenge, which when delivered was clearly going to be difficult...huge bucket of chips, small bucket of battered gherkins, coleslaw, and chutney and the largest burger ever with three different types of cheese.
Moved to the 1 bed apartment in Hammersmith Grove, which is very comfortable and a short walk to Jen and Jon.
Melbourne Cup Day and we backed 1st place Fiorente (Gai Waterhouse) and 3rd place Mt Athos and in England they pay for 4th place Simenon, so we collected (£18.75) A$32.
Louise is back from her trip and staying with us and we have been to Camden Town markets, where she bought a pair of boots £30 and a couple of tops at a £1 each. She is off to Scotland 7/11 till 10/11 staying in Edinburgh before flying home 11/11.
Back in London 3 weeks now and it is certainly colder than when we first arrived.
Louise and I went to Borough Markets Wednesday 6/11, which is for fresh food near London Bridge, where they had clutches of rabbit and pheasant, fresh seafood, tasty cheeses, we bought some Comte cheese, along with lots of other lovely things. We had lunch at Wright Brothers Oyster & Porter House, Moules and Fish Soup with Parmesan toast, washed down with a Rose, all were delicious. We then went to the Queen Theatre to see Les Miserable in Shaftesbury Avenue, we had great seats in Row J and it was an exceptional show. John picked up my necklace and had lunch with Jen and spent the rest of the afternoon with her. Dinner was Linguine Boscaiola and some salted caramel fudge from the market.
Visted Abbey Road Thursdday 7/11 and walked the famous crossing of the Fab 4 and saw their recording studios.
Jen was due 25/10, when will baby come? She is being induced 7/11.
