Day 57 Monday 7/10 Salida (Crete) 24 deg Sunny -

Judy here...We really are in wind-down mode, and after a lazy start we caught the local bus to Heraklion, 5th largest city in Greece, and looked at the ancient city which is mainly Venetian. The local pastry here is Bougasta, and we tried the standard one with custard, which is served warm and one with cheese, honey and nuts, served cold, both were delicious while sitting in Fountain Square in front of a 1628 Venetian fountain. It was back on the local bus, which is like a coach, and a home cooked meal of pork chop on our balcony overlooking the Mediterranean...ahh bliss.
