Day 62 Saturday 12/10 Chania (Crete) 29 deg Sunny -

Judy here...Lazing and reading by the pool and taking in the delightful view of the sea. In the afternoon we decided to go for a walk and stopped to have a coffee, I then felt the earth move, so did John, (no it wasn't what you might be thinking) we then saw the ground moving or rather heaving and heard the rumble, we jumped up and ran out of the cafe as did the other patrons and everyone was in the road. We had had an earthquake, 50km from us, which was 6.4 on the Richter scale, thankfully there was no damage, but it was a surreal experience. It seems Crete has many earthquakes mostly minor, we hope there are no more before we leave. Another home cooked meal eating outside, enjoying the warm evening...before we head to Paris then London and our winter gear...brrr.
