Day 18 Wednesday 28/08 Montreuil 23 deg Sunny -
John here...After a late breakfast, we wandered into the medieval town to find a laundromat and have a coffee. We then walked the rampart which surrounds the old town. Later we drove to Le Touquet a tourist beach resort, near Calais. -
Judy here...Montreuil is very pretty town with an historical background, the British had their headquarters here in WW1, and it also played a major part in WW2. The architecture is fabulous, lots of cobblestone streets and wonderful gardens, shrubs and flowers abound. With our coffee we also ordered the cake de jour which was Gateaux de Riz, as their English is limited and our French also, we wondered what we would get, it was creamed rice with the most delicious syrup over it. We had lunch in our garden and after our drive, we shopped for dinner at Carrefours which has the most fantastic range of wonderful food and wines.

Debbie You look so well Judy. Looks like you really got over that dreadful lergy, you had when I saw you. What a pretty cup & saucer & setting. Beautiful weather it seems. Lovely to share times with Enid too. Debbie
