Hello again. Sorry its been a while. Im on a better computer than the last ones iv been on so my spelling should be a little bit better. Debaitable.
Anyways form Vangvieng we kayaked 14 k down to Vientien. Had such a laugh with the guys who did the tour for us. they picked us up in a van type thing which ten kayakes on the top. All of them where doubles appart from 2 of them. We traveled for a few hours down the river which was a right laugh. i went in the single kayake, joel and lorna, ty and hay, dan and tan and ryan with kate went in the doubles. As our group of lads are so competitive with anything they made me say who was going to come 1st,2nd,3rd and 4th. i guessed that joel would come 1st with ty 2nd dan 3rd and ryan last ! If i got the results wrong then we would have to drink when get back to the pub. fortunatly as i guess right i didnt have 2! anyhoo there where a few rappids to go down but nothing to hard. It was a good laugh watching some of the guys fall off and just seeing them drift down the river and walk back about 10 mins later. About half way down the tour guid took us to a rock jumping spot which i guess they do everyday. It was about 20 feet plus easily into the river. Did a few jumps each and got some good pictures aswell. The weathr is really hot. no clouds what so ever. everything is so peaceful. i ended up getting my shoulders really burnt asell as my feet, legs and face. Turned brown in the end tho. Once we finished a van pciked us up at the end and took us to Vientien center which was able an hour away.
We found a really nice hotel which was quite cheap for the 9 of us! Hay and Joel stayed else where! not far away though. had a couple of days here! didnt really do much as there wasnt much to do! We did book our bus tickets to Hanoi- Vietnam.
The bus ride which we booked was 28 hour journey on just a normal coach not a sleeper. It was possible the worst journey so far! We all took up the back rows on the bus as there were about 20 other locals sitting infront. Not the most plesent people iv ever met but hey.
When we got to the Vietnem boarder no one really knew what to do. we where standing around for 4 hours looking helpless. while we where in there i asked one of the security guards if i could go through the luggage scanner which they had and he said yes. Not sure if he understood what i wanted to do but i did it anyway. It was a bit of a laugh to see the picture of my body on the screen. i did end up getting told of in a vietnamise but another security guard.
We arrived in Hanoi which is the capital of vietnam to find things where alot different to loas. the town was very built up and there where more motor bikes on the road than iv ever seen before. you really struggle crossing the road but the idea is to look down and let the bikes just scream past u. apparently if u look at them then they think you will move for them but if u dont then they will move for you. its strange but works.
we stayed in a hotel which was really standard but did the job. it was called free spirit guest house. as we arrived in the evening we didnt have much time to eat and most places where closed. we did take a look around the town but there wasnt much to c. i did notic that everyone leaves there rubbish out on the roads and pavement for the dustwomen to pick it all up late at night.
I would finish off my amazing story but the cafe is closing now! ill get joel to update soon i hope!
