Hello everyone. Yet again in sorry for the lack of time and effort spent on the blog. The computer which i have been on up till now have been really bad and the keyboards are rubbish to type on. anyhoo ill tell you what iv been up to.
Arrived in Melbourne on the 1st of April at 4.30am. It was FREEZING compared to what we have been used to. I atleast thought it would be a little warmer than it was. We then caught a taxi to a hostel called' melbourne internation backpackers' where Dans friends where staying. The plan was for them to let us in to the hostel with out paying and staying for free. We fortunatly all had beds to stay in and luckly didnt get caught. I ended up signing into the hostel and paying the full amount but we split it 3 ways with the lads so it was like 4 pounds per day. I really enjoyed cooking for the 1st time in ages. Lots of pasta was made. It was really good to be in Oz. I can see why people say its quite like england. And also everyone speaks english so that was alot easier. We spent about a week in melbourne bunking in the hostel. Had a good look around the center, went on a few trams and took lots of photos. Went out in the clubs which was really cool. met some really nice people around. We then hired a car to go to Phillip island for one night. bought a tent to camp in. the island wasnt anything like the ones we have been to in asia. this one actually had electricity which felt strange. along the coat line they have free bbq's which people can use to cook food. that was really gd. we pitched a tent up on the grass and made a fire on the beach. such a nice night. gazed at the stars for hours. smelt stong of fire and bbq which wasnt good. anywayz got up early that morning as we needed to get to torquay to watch the ripcurl pro on bells beach.
it took about and hour and a half to get down there, found a camping site which was in Jan Juc about 20 mins walk away from the beach. They let us camp there for 13 dollers a night. we stayed for 9 nights. the walk along the coastline was incredible. the weather was amazing. there wasnt mush to do in jan juc but torquay wasnt far so we caught the bus there quite alot. there where lots of surf shops, i ended up buying a 6"4 round tail egg shape fun board which was alot cheaper than english prices.
anywayz watched the Ripcurl pro from the 7th to the 18th but on some days they called it off due to rubbish surf. but the days it was on it was pumping and the surfers where amazing. We paid a student price for the tickets which was about 8 pound instead of 22 pounds. how we did that i dont no. but thank good we did. we all got our boards signed by 6 of the pros including fanning. it was wicked. we surfed winkipop and boobs beach while we where there. i ended up having a scary moment in the sea gettin caught in a rip quite late in the evening when sharks feed. it took me ages to get out but fortunatly did in the end.
when the competition finished we left the camp site that day. we ended up packing our stuff together really quick and making a run for it at reception. we didnt get caught that god and ended up saving 120 dollers each. i dont no how we did it cause we had so much gear with us, bags, pots pans, surf boards, wetsuits, tent, sleeping bags. you should have seen it. 7 of us running for our lives just to save money. haha. like proper pikies.
we then went back to melbourne to get 2 campervans which we hired out to take to sydney. they where lush. kitted out to the max. we didnt have to use any of our cooking equipment which we brought with us. it already had it. it took 2 days to drive to sydney. the girls where in one campervan and the lads in the other. we all took turns in driving althought im not old enough out here. it was fun tho. got to sydney about 5 days ago. its incredible here. we've been into the center a few times. been on the ferry under sydney harbour bridge and went to the opera house. iv taken alot of photos now thank god mum bought me a hard drive.
im now staying with nick andrews and his girl friend for a few night. chilling out. its been really good. they have shown me the coatline and took me fishing. been out for a chicken schnizel mash and gravy. really good. think im going to take a walk from coogee to bondi beach sometime this week and along the way look in for jobs. thats pretty much it from me so who knows when ill write back again . speak soon love me xxx
