We were up by 5am as we had to leave for the airport at 6.30, even though our flight wasn't until 9.00am. The early departure meant the trip only took 30 minutes - thankfully all the nightmare traffic was going the other way! We left London at 2030 last night on Qatar airways heading for Doha. Our first experience of Doha airport was fleeting as we had to dash to our connecting flight - that said if we had time there were lots of shops to browse. We finally arrived in Dar es Salaam at 1325, 15 minutes early, but that paled into insignificance when I emerged after 11/2 hours with my visa and John finally exited after just over two hours.
