Today was our last walk to the east. We walked along by the river - and luckily saw a big bull elephant who was hidden but the swaying leaves gave him away. Our bird sightings list is growing we are slowly marking off species from the list provided by Moli in the room - with the bigger & easier species seen we are now starting to concentrate on the smaller harder ones - today we saw the violet backed sunbird, black cuckoo, Boheims spinetail and the grey back...

Moli informed us that today's walk was going to be a bit longer and probably hotter as we were going to head up a sand river to see if we could see kilpspringer, hyrax and perhaps hyena which sometimes den or rest in the rocks. Overnight we heard lion and a very noisy and persistent fiery necked nightjar. Just as we went to bed we heard hyena but sleep came quickly as we were exhausted. We woke with tea being delivered at 5.45am and slowly 'came to'with the dawning day. After arriving at 2am we breezed through immigration - as after our last experience we wisely bought them in the UK before leaving - it took less than 3 days for the High Commission to turn them around - much more efficient!
