We arrived in Kodiak just after 10.00pm, the sun was going down and bugs whizzed round our heads as we waited for the Best Western transfer bus.
Because of the 9 hour time difference we had to remind ourselves that we were tired because we had been travelling for over 24 hours. We left Cambridge at 0430 and headed to Heathrow for our 0925 flight to Seattle - we were an hour late arriving which was immaterial as our flight to Anchorage wasn't until 4.25pm. Our final flight was a short hop in a propellor driven plane to Kodiak. Both flights as we flew through Alaska offered great views of impressive ice fields, glaciers (today's photo) as well as mountains, valleys, rivers and wetlands.
On arrival at the hotel I couldn't wait to have a shower and a sleep.
