Day 13: Had hoped it would be a nice easy 62 miles into John O'Groats after our hard 12 days so far - no such luck - hard hills and a 20mph wind right on our noses made it feel like pedaling in treacle! Day 12: another 79 miles completed from Conon Bridge to Tongue; one cold climb into a thick 'scotch mist' but it stayed dry if cloudy - my favourite day yet as the cycling was more like home - flattish! So near and yet so far - final turn of the key tomorrow.....expecting rain!

Day 11 Ballater to Conon Bridge: 87 mls & by far the wettest and coldest. Over the Lecht ski area the mist was down I was so wet and cold by the tea stop, warmed a little but later stopped the van for more layers. Arrived 5.30pm, not an inch dry. Hot shower! Ate chocolate today!

Day 10: Perth to Ballater, over the Spittal of Glenshee, by the Cairngorms ski area, Braemar and Balmoral - the sun & scenery lifted the spirits and allowed the miles to rattle by. After my heart felt reflections of yesterday I raised £800 in 24hrs. Neck ok except for last 2 hours.
