My day started with a visit to the Steve Nash, state of the art, fitness studio, after realising the hotel had free entry tickets and it was far better than the slightly tired and old hotel gym!
Breakfast at Denny's followed - much better than last nights dinner and definitely their forte. Next we packed before meeting the group at midday in the hotel reception and heading back to south terminal for our flight to Bella Bella.
We were now reunited with several people we had been to Baja California with - Chris Breen and Mark Carwardine - our leaders and fellow passengers Malcolm and Debbie, Sylvia and Andrew and Bob and Jan ( retired dentists from Nottingham) plus another 8 new guests - at least not so many new names to remember. It wasn't long before it felt like yesterday that we last saw each other!
Once in Bella Bella we had a 90minute boat trip to Spirit Bear Lodge eating a DIY picnic lunch bought for us by Chris and Mark at the local supermarket.
At Spirit Bear Lodge we settled in to lovely rooms, filled in forms, had a briefing on the lodge and what to expect over the upcoming days. We were a first for the lodge - the first time one group had taken over the lodge. Dinner followed and after chatting with everyone we prepared for our first adventure tomorrow....it should be fun.
(Today's photo is of the lodge which is owned by the the local First Nation tribe at Klemtu and is an important source of income.)
