It continued to rain all through the night and all through the day, it even sleeted at times. We did have a couple of notable breaks allowing for a reasonable walk, watching three mule deer and a spruce grouse, albeit it started again before we had finished. It finally stopped late in the day and we had a dry visit to the first gold mining town of Quesnel Forks - now a ghost town, but it almost became the capital of British Columbia before Bakerville but this was thwarted by its difficult location at the bottom of a steep sided valley. It's currently being restored by locals and looks great - today's photo is of an old original abandoned car in the village. Our wildlife view of the day was of a black bear and her cubs ear as she disappeared slowly into the bushes as we were coming to the end of our drive in mountains and before heading to Quesnel Forks - better late than never!
Luckily we decided not to go back to the Murray River with Gary - we guessed a day in the open rather than in the relative sanctuary of the four wheel drive truck would be less than pleasant - whatever we saw - and I think we were right !
