The weather dawned overcast and drizzly so we decided today was a relaxing day in the resort, amongst other things, we sorted out what we were going to take to Stewart island and what we were going to leave in the car - we are flying and only have a 15kg limit.
I started the day with a session in the gym before breakfast and booked a massage for 2pm - the latter was so good that I went to sleep! Refreshed from my massage we decided to drive down the hill into Wanaka and have a coffee with churros and caramel dip in Patagonia. The good news is that they are open tomorrow so we have a coffee stop if we go for a walk. We decided to have one last walk around the town to take in the Xmas eve feel - which was low key with a few last minute shoppers
An evening watching television beckoned - the news programmes are local and excellent but the rest come from the UK, Australia or the US. Many are several series behind ours - we forget how lucky we are with the BBC and their creative talents continually serving up new productions. Tonight we watched a good film 'You've got mail' with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan followed by the Vicar of Dibley - the only downside were repetitious adverts ( there is not even the variety of adverts!)
On the finger front - there are improvements the swelling is going down now it is moving - but I still need to be careful with my right hand.
