The paperwork is OVER! I had my appointment at the police station and after a 3 hour wait for a 10 minute fingerprinting session, I'm finally LEGAL! Bocconi had a special arrangement with the police so that they were open just for us on a Saturday from 8am to 11am (kind of reaffirms what a racket they're running). Guess who got the 11am spot? That's right, me. And those of you who have known me for more than 5 minutes would agree that that's the perfect time to ensure that I'm on time and not grumpy. However, getting more beauty sleep comes at a price: I was the very very last appointment (#80) so when I came out of the back room, the lights in the waiting area were already off and they were holding the door for me so that once I exited, they could lock it behind me.

On the bright side, I met a new friend, #79. Her name is Emmy and she's from Australia. Waiting for ridiculous amounts of time in ridiculous situations brings people closer together you know. All our other friends had abandoned us hours earlier so we decided to explore the Embassy District around the Police Station. We found a charming cafe and had lunch together before going our separate ways at the metro station. Did you know that Hershey's chocolate can only be purchased as speciality chocolate shops in Australia? Learn something new everyday.

I headed off to meet Hilary and Joey to go shopping yet again. This time however, it wasn't with myself in mind. We were acting as consultants for Joey who, being a boy, hadn't brought enough clothes with him and also needed to find something swanky to impress his teacher. He says she's the most beautiful woman in the world and I say she looks like a Malibu Barbie. Anyway, we found him two sweaters, a button-down, new shoes and a matching belt, plus the grand finale, a fedora. As soon as he put it on we said he could never take it off again because it turns him into a dead ringer for Frank Sinatra. (Today, Wednesday, was the last day of class and he was going to ask her out, will write more about either his humiliation or success...)
