Went to opal mine called Chambers of the black hand saw some amazing art spoke to the actual artist who was from Lancashire came in 1970 to Lightning Ridge been doing this for 14 years pictures of dinosaurs, 10 foot high Budda, angles and many more carvings in sandstone I went down by lift 44 metres underground Peter walked down 88 stairs miners toured us through the 100 years old mine. We then went to visitors centre and then to the bowling club where we saw Peter Aunty Bev name on the board for past presidents and winner of tournaments. She is coming up to lightning ridge later in the year. Uncle Ernie and Aunty Bev were living in the area as caretakers at the miners association cottage in the 1990 and end of 2000. the local potter remembers Aunty Bev from the 70s ? Then off for a Artisan Spa and back to caravan we we met Dave who showed us how to folock for small pieces of opal which I will send to Hashan and Ruski off to pub for drinks then back tea and bed.
