Went on tour to Chambers of the black hand a working black opal mine where we walked among 14 years of one man passion of Dinosaurs 10 feet high Buddha angles jungle cats and more we spoke to the artist who immigrated to Australia in 1982 I took the lift down and Peter walked 88 steps down we went 44 meters underground, not as far down where by they dig for diamonds but far enough for Peter. After we stopped of at a Art Gallery Peter Bird. Then back to the information centre and on to the bowling club where by the honour board we found Aunty Bev Peter mum sister who was president of the bowling club and won a number of titles. Uncle Ernie came out to lightening Ridge in the early 1990 and was here for 15 years. Had a shared lunch and off to the opal museum which was really good as it featured the only place in NSW where you can find dinosaur bones and the only place in the world where dinosaurs bones are preserved in opals then a spa again back home where by a block called Dave showed us how to follock for opal in the ground as the council use all the stones from the opal mines which are not used I sent a couple to Hashan worth about 10.00 in total. Had Chinese leftovers for tea and Peter went to pub for drinks then we were not able to sleep as pub had band on until 1.30am.
