Today we visit the Hay jail a blight on Australian society where by they put in jail young girls from 13-17 year old from Sydney as a maximum security establishment for girls under the child welfare department which operated between 1960-1974 in our lifetime for one offence of tearing up a poster. Visited the Dunera Museum yesterday the reason we stopped in Hay as first came the Dunera Boys over 2500 Jewish Internees brought to Hay from Europe in 1940 the reason for the name was the ship that brought them to Australia was called the Dunera,they were followed by 2000 Italian and Japanese internees.
