Ok so I have been away nearly three weeks now and this is the first time I have sat down to write a blog entry. I guess that is a sign of how much fun I have been having and how quickly time has passed.

I arrived at Playa Del Carmen by ADO bus from Cancun with no problem and walked down the busy street to my hostel, Hostel Playa. It had been a long day of travel so I held off exploring until the morning.

On my first day I awoke to warm but overcast day and set off to explore the bustling holiday resort. Believe it or not but I had no idea that I had arrived in Mexico for Spring Break. The beaches were full of American college students letting their hair down and partying!

Itching to have my first dip in the Caribbean I went for a long walk down the coast away from all the big hotels to find a quiet spot to relax and swim. I spent most of my day about an hours walk from my hostel. Later that day I got caught in a torrential storm and got soaked as I walked the long walk back to anything that resembled shelter.

This wasn't what I had signed up for, rain and high winds. I can get that back at home I thought to myself! In fact it was so windy that the Port was shut for a number of days so there weren't even any dive boats going out!

I was not overly impressed with Playa, in fact it was rubbish. So I thought of it purely as a quick stop off and as a location to do some Cenote Diving.

Hopefully Tulum will bring better things!
