Didn't quite get to finish the last blog so thought I'd carry on a bit further on here. From the paradise that is Byron we went up to Surfers paradise (which most definately is not a paradise). Surfers is the aussie equvilant to Blackpool in other words tacky and horrible. I think if the weather had been better for us we may have liked it more but two days or rain did not make me fall in love with this place,. we ended up spending most of our two days shopping which put Gem in here eliment but I wasn't really that bothered. Surfers has the largest shopping ventre in the southern hemisphere which is my idea of hell and Gems idea of heaven. We spent one of our rainy afternoons in the cinema watching the golden compass which was good. Our last night in Surfers was quite good we managed to get free entry into a club with our hostel and then free drinks which worked out well as Surfers was mega expensive so that was a good night.
From Surfers we headed to Brisbane. On the way we stopped at a zorbing place. Zorbing is when 3 of you climb in to a 15ft clear inflatable ball with a smaller inner ball. You are covered in water and the ball is filled with water and then you get pushed down a big hill. It is so much fun!!!!! I absolutely loved it it was the funniest thing ever. Me, Gem and Marie are definately much better frineds after that.
We arrived in Bribane about 7pm last night and headed straight for some food in our hostel bar. This hostel is huge and has everything anyone could ever need. We spent the evening in the bar chatting to loads of people (mnainly Irish guys for some strange reason) about their travels and what to do in Brisbane. Got some really good hints and tips for NZ which was cool. We spent today our only day in Brisbane tryign to see as much as possible. There isn't really a lot to see from a tourist point of view in Brisbane but it is really pretty and the sun did come out for us today,. We took a walk around the south bank and went to the museum then took a ride down the river before stopping in the Valley (apparently the happening place to be in Brisbane) for some dinner.
We have an early start tomoro as well leave here at 6.30am for Noosa. I will try and keep the blog a bit more up to date from now on so that I don't just write a load of rubbish like I have just done now.
