Well Disney does know how to put on a great show! We lucked out a bit because the crowds were small and line ups were a fraction of what they could have been. At one point Space Mountain had a sign saying there was a 10 minute wait which actually meant a 10 minute walk through the trough where the line up is supposed to be followed by zero wait time. Both Colin and I managed a couple of solo runs and relieved our childhood memories. We spent 2 and a half-days trekking though both Eurodisney and Walt Disney Studios and caught random parades, firework displays, and watched 100s of "little princesses" throw fits in many different languages and some less than stellar parenting moments from overwhelmed parents. We did manage to learn some new hand games and skills to while away time in the various lines we did encounter. Mahri can now raise one eyebrow perfectly and Colin is working on some new magic tricks with limited success.
We experienced the same parenting traps that anyone who has taken young children to Disney -ranging from the incessant requests for everything in sight to the bad ride choices (pirates of the Caribbean had both girls cowering in the ship saying they hated this)- and staying up way too late to squeeze in every possible Disney moment. All in all they were great and we walked away with minimal Disney propaganda and lots of great memories.
Next up, we are going to Chartres. Then we are all very much looking forward to recovering from the magic of Disney at a tree house located at a campground on a French mansion property along the Loire Valley.
