Me and Elise went shopping at Kho San road before being re-united with Cassie in the afternoon! We got the night bus to Suratthani (ferry port) at 7pm, and we were the last people to get on so ended up in what seemed like a VIP part of the bus, which had air-con, pink leather corner sofa and tv. This all seemed great at first but was probably the most uncomfortable nights sleep I've ever had as the three of us had to share a sofa!!

We got the bus to bangkok today. The first bus (to the border) didn't have anywhere for suitcases/backpacks, so they were pilled up in the middle of the bus, which made getting on and off the bus for breaks quite fun as we had to climb over the seats! After going through thai immigration and after lots of arguing with various men (who told us we had missed the bus and that it was our fault!!!) we finally got on a bus to bangkok. There weren't enough seats for eve...

We packed our bags and caught the sky train to Kho San Road and visited the Emerald Buddha and the Recling Buddha Temples, which are so amazing you have to see them to believe how great they are!! Every inch is covered in either paintings, mosaic, gems, mother of pearl or gold! In the evening we caught the night train to Chaing Mai which was fun!

We didn't wake up till 4pm on New Years Day... probably the flights and late night catching up with us! We caught the sky train back to Saim Square and looked at the shopping centre, which has 7 floors!

New Years Eve! After two six hr flights we finally arrived at the hostel in Sukhumvit at about 8:30pm, after some drinking we got the sky line to Siam Square and arrived at about 11:50! The square was absolutely packed and it was mainly Thai people that had gone there to celebrate the new year.
