Na bijna 10 maanden reizen vinden we dat het tijd is voor wat luxe. We nemen het viegtuid van Siem Reap in Cambodja naar Kuala Lumpur in Malaysie, de stad die bekend staat om zijn betaalbare 5 sterren hotels (tenminste dat zegt onze reisgids). En dus hebben we 1 nacht geboekt in het 5 sterren hotel Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur. Kosten: 125 euro incl. internet, ontbijt, drankjes, knabbels en de belastingen. Om wat kosten te besparen nemen we de budget taxi naar het hotel. Geen goed idee: de taxi chauffeur zet ons af bij het verkeerde hotel. Een eerste blik zegt ons al dat we niet goed zitten, als we binnen lopen weten we het zeker: we zitten verkeerd. De monorail brengt ons naar het Sheraton. Daar aangekomen, worden we naar de 38e verdieping gebracht, en terwijl we genieten van het uitzicht en wat drinken, wordt de administratie geregeld en worden onze spullen naar de kamer gebracht. Onze kamer bevindt zich op de 33e verdieping: een king-size bed, een grote flatscreen tv, een badkamer met bad en aparte douche, thee, koffie en nog veel meer. Tijdens ons verblijf hier doen we eigenlijk helemaal niets. Behalve veel genieten: we zwemmen een rondje in het zwembad, we drinken wijn, eten kaasjes, koekjes en andere lekkere dingen, en, om de ervaring compleet te maken, bestellen roomservice. Hmmmm, hier kunnen we best aan wennen....

After almost 10 months travelling we decided that we deserved a little luxury. Our flight out of Siem Reap, Cambodia takes us to Kuala Lumpur, the city that is known for its affordable 5 star hotels (according to our travelguide). So we booked ourselves 1 night in a 5 star hotel: the Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur. Costs: 125 euro, incl. internet, breakfast, drinks, nibbles and taxes. To save some we take the budget taxi to the hotel. That was not a good idea..the driver drops us off at the wrong hotel (perhaps he does not believe that we booked the Sheraton). It does not look like what we expected and when we walk in, we see it is not the Sheraton. The monorail takes us to the right place. In the Sheraton they take us to the 38th floor, and while we enjoy the view and some water, reception takes care of the administration and our luggage. Our room is on the 33rd floor: a king-size bed, a large flatscreen tv, a bathroom with seperate bath and shower, thee, coffee and much more. During our stay in this hotel, we just relax and enjoy the luxury. We go for a swim in the pool, drink wine, nibble on cookies, cheese and much more, and, to make this 5* experience complete, we order roomservice. Hmmmmm, we could get used to this....
