Met up with luke! I got into the airport 1 hour before he arrived as i overestimated the time it would take to get there. We then had to wait 5 hours at the airport as we thought we would save money and not pay for more taxis. When we finaly got onto the flight is was over so quickly, especially as luke was saying some random things in his half sleep state.

When we got to malindi we got to the hotel and decided to go and find some food! We wandered around and found a creepy abandoned fairground and decided to go to a floating sushi bar! It was in the middle of a casino which was interesting and fairly expensive but it was fun to give it a go!

The next day we went for a wander around Malindi and found a falconary place! It was supprisingly amazing!! They had a massive tortoise called Kobe mzee (Old Tortoise). We then found a cheap lunch which was amazing and went to the hotel for a swim. Afterwards we went for a walk along the pristine beaches, chasing crabs and having fun! Two locals came along and befriended us. Thinking we had made some lovely new friends, they then asked for a massive 10 kg bag of maize!

The next day we decided to go down to kilifi and stay at the backpackers there that I went to the new years party. On the way we were told by a friend that there was an amazing ice cream parlour in watamu (in between kilifi and Malindi) so we just decided to stop there! So worth it. After using some of our bartering skills, that are getting better slowly, we managed to get to kilifi It was still as amazing there as it was before. The people who were staying there and the staff and owners were all so so welcoming and friendly!

That day we got a text from Antonia (a friend from school who lives in kenya) that we could go and stay at her lodge near tsavo west for a 3/4 nights basically for free!!! So of course we decided to do so! To get there it would mean a 6 hour bus journey. Another person called Nicky was also going there so we were given her contact information and we sorted it out.
