So after a fairly straightforward 13 hour bus journey I arrived in Airlie Beach a few days ago. It's pretty much just one strip which makes life pretty easy. I spend most of the time either at the lagoon or recovering from the night before, then get a box of goon and start again. The hostel I'm staying in is a place called Magnum's. I happened to luckily stumble upon it and it's way better than I expected. I've met loads of friendly people since I arrived, and although the shower isn't great, the atmosphere in the room makes up for it. Only downside is that I'm sleeping on the top bunk, which I really dislike, but even more so, I'm sleeping above Voldemort and he's not such a nice guy.

Next stop will be Rainbow Beach and Fraser Island where I will probably be spending about 4 nights.

My Oz trip is starting to take shape now as the bus often forces you to hop off at places that are worth seeing, so my route now looks like this:

Cairns -> Airlie Beach -> Rainbow Beach -> Fraser Island -> Noosa -> Brisbane -> Surfers Paradise -> Byron Bay -> Sydney -> Canberra -> Lakes Entrance -> Melbourne. (May be adding/losing destinations depending on how quickly/slowly I move). I will probably be spending around 3 or 4 nights in each place so I'll be hopping about quite a bit in the next few weeks. So, still a little way to go yet but I'm looking forward to every minute!
