Somoto gorge
Crossing the border from Honduras into Nicaragua was pretty painless, just time-consuming. I bet it almost took 20 minutes just for two of us??? After the bus to the border it was two more buses and we arrived in Somoto! We made it there by about 10:30, found a nice local family with a hotel and great restaurant who offered us a guided tour of the gorge so we accepted. The five hour hike down the gorge, hiking, swimming, hiking ,swimming, was really amazing and beautiful! There was a great ledge about 20 m to jump into the canyon water so obviously that had to be done..... Man it was high!!! At the end of the hike a man in a rowboat pick this up and give us a ride to the exit.
The rest of the day was spent eating delicious food and lying in hammocks!
