Tales From The Far Side
Hello there!
I am just about to leave Yosemite Park. I fly tomorrow to Fiji from L.A. so I have a lot of travelling to do. The pasrt few days I have been doing a lot of travelling with my own two feet. The scenery in Yosemite is awesome and there have been plenty of oppurtunities to hike up Waterfalls and go snowshoeing in the forests. I have only been able to see the valley and surrounding area due to the weather (it has been snowing), but hat has been more than enough for these few days. i will have to come back one summer with a tent and go backpacking in the high country.
As it is I have seen most of the sights Yosemite is famous for, El Capitan (3000 feet of granite rising from the floor), Half Dome (haf the mountain cracked off leaving an odd shape, and dozens of waterfalls, many only visible now due to all the melting snow in the mountains.
The area is beautiful and pretty free of tourists at this time of year although I still encountered a few dozen hikers on each trail. I am copletetlly knackered having trudged up and down mountains in deep snow so I need a rest on a desert island for a few days.
Hope you are all well,
Jonny.
