We left Koh Pha-ngan at 5.30 in the morning with our transfer to the boat. All would have been well except I was ill. I had been up since 4.30 trotting to and from the toilet, it was pretty gruesome to say the least. Of all the travel luck that we have experieced so far this has got to be the lowest and of all the days!
The boat left at 8 and it was the slow boat. The toilets were really gruesome so I spent the whole of the trip on the top of the boat letting myself dehydrate. My theory was that if there was nothing going into my body then there would be nothing to come out, turns out that it works but you feel really bad doing so. The boat arrived at a place call Donsack where we had to catch a bus to a place called Surat Thani, that journey took about an hour and then we had to take a small taxi to another bus station where we caught the real bus to Krabi! Total journey time was about 10 hours!
We arrived into Krabi to the worst weather that we have seen on our trip so far. It was grey, it was raining and it was super hot. That night I was pretty much written off. I was so dehydrated that it hurt, I just had to lay down and drink water with the comfort of knowing that there was a toilet 4 feet from my bed! Ahhh home comforts, nothing like it!
The rest of the time was spent inside at Krabi, the rain was just continuous it didn't let up for 3 days!
We chose to travel down to Kualar Lumpur by bus from Krabi. Price wise it was a good idea but it really wasn't as you will find out!. The journey started off from Krabi at 5.30 in the morning where we were picked up in a mini bus! It was so rammed in this little car that we assued that it was going to be a short journey, little did we know! The journey took about 4 hours to a place called Hat Yai which is pretty South in Thailand. We were let off at this town and we took the opportunity to stretch our legs and grab some western food (Asian food has screwed me over too many times already).
Thankfully when the next bus picked us up it was abit ore lavish! It had air con which was pretty sweet and the seats were comfy! When we booked the bus we were told we would be in KL at about 4 in the arvo but this was not to be the case! We eventually arrived into KL and at our hostel at 1a.m. Total journey time was just off 19 hours! Pretty rubbish
On another note I am quite glad to be out of Thailand and one step closer to Aus! Stoked!
