Another bus journey today but thankfully it was only going to be for 5 hours! Hopefully it will be the last bus ride for a while! The journey was pretty good actually, air con, comfy seats and I had a good book to read! Perfect!
Arriving into Singapore we had no money, ad no where to stay which obviously wasn't ideal! We managed to find a taxi driver to take us to an ATM and then to a hostel that I had scoped out on tinternet called Summer Tavern!
The hostel was really nice and we were staying in a massive dorm, 16 beds or possibly more, I didn't bother counting!. That night we headed out to Raffles to experience a 'Singapore Sling' which is just a fruity cocktail, nothing special but its got a bit of an after taste. Eating out tonight we had some fish and chips that was just heaven, although they didn't come close to Rohais!!
Next day we had to collect our tickets from the Qantas office but it turns out they were closed! Lazy b*****s, it took us ages to get there as well, we were not happy. To make up for it we hit Orchard street for a bit of retail therapy. We bought a sightseeing bus ticket called the HIPpos tours! It was nice not to have to work! That night we headed out to the Night Safari. 90% of animals in a zoo are nocturnal so we actually got to see the lions and giraffes up and about and not just lazing around on the floor. It was super cool but there were alot of deer, who would have thought there were so many different deers in the world!
We spent a day in Sentosa Island which was nice, it really brought back alot of memories from when I was there last time! The 4d show was really funny, staring Leslie Nielson ad the extreme log ride was pretty fun also. The highlights of the day were the luge which is basically a long road that you can scream it down on a small go kart, really good, and the oxygen bar! We tried Peppermint flavour and green apple. That night we headed out to an English Pub to watch the footy but not before we did a reverse bunji! It was really good.
The airport in Singapore is really really something else. It has everything! We got there early and we checked into a Spa and relaxation centre. I hired out my own private jacuzzi with a shower and free soft drink! Epic stuff! ALMOST TO AUSTRALIA NOW!
