We set off from Melbourne on the 8th Nov and after a brief stop off on the roadside we arrived about 11 on the 9th. We met Biffo at the Blades, the place where we were going to hire out our suits! It was $100 so it was pretty expensive but that was the cheapest suit rental.
I opted for a green tie and Ian opted for a blue tie. They were both the same suit in the same colour so we were going to look like tweedle dee and tweedle dum! We spent the day with Traceys family and in the evening Biffo cooked us a roast! it was amazing! Real good food with fresh veg and even gravy!
The next day we were up super early to pick up Jimmy from the airport. He was running a little late as his flight was delayed so we took a detour to Bondi to check the surf! It brought back alot of memories. That night we headed to the Burns club which is biffos local servicemans club, we played some darts and then I won some meat on the meat draw! It was a really cool night, good to speak to some fellow guerns!
The 10th was the day of the wedding and it was a beautiful day. We started off the day with some food at the Rydges hotel which was the venue for the reception. We then headed off to the golfcourse down the road for a quick 9 holes. It was soooo much fun and I don't think i have ever laughed so hard. Jimmy was by far the worst with Ian not too far behind. Ian lost about 4 balls and Jimmy spent most of the time in the bush! We all almost hit a Kangaroo several times!
The evening do was amazing with fresh oysters (biffos selection) and other seafood and traditional aussie pies and fish hor'derves (spelling??) The main course was steak and then cheese board for desert. It was a free bar so needless to say we sank a couple of heavies!
We spent the rest of the time in Canberra seeing the sights, which wasn't alot and then chilling out at the house! Tracey and her family were amazing and allowed us to park our van on their grass for the 4 days we were there! Thanks We won a total of 3 platters of meat in the meat draw so it was a pretty succesful trip
