Well Hello from Singapore, the last stop of our travels through Asia before we fly to Melbourne in the land down under, where woman glow and men plunder lol.
We arrived here on bus from Melaka and again like most border crossing's we have had has gone through without any problems. We booked a Hostel the previous night which was an extortinate price for a dorm room and were expecting to walk in to a room similar to that we stayed in Hong Kong. We were dropped off not too far from our hostel and found it after asking a few locals for directions. The hostel was right in the middle of Little India but looked quite nice (from the outside anyway). Inside it was a differrent story but wasn't the worst place we have stayed.
That evening we headed out and took the underground to Orchard Road to check out the centre and grab a bite to eat. Orchard Street was just full of Expensive Brand name shops with us passing at least 3 Louis Vuitton shops within 3minutes of walking lol. We ventured into one of the many malls and ate some Hawker food which basically is heaps of stalls serving everything and anything Asian. We had a Chinese sort of buffet thing which was not the best to be honest but filled a hole. We decided to go to Singapore Zoo the following day so called it a night and headed back to hostel to watch a film. Whilst watching our film, we both noticed the 50/60year old guy on the opposite bunk to us was on his computer and was also watching a film. It was a film that could be catogerised as Blue or XXX lol, i did say to Shay that it seemed weird he had a pillow over his crotch hahaha! Around 1am he turned his computer off, 20mins later he then asked me turn mine off as was keeping him up, i wont type what i responded to the old arrogant guff t*** haha!
Anyway the next morning we were up nice and early and headed for Singapore Zoo. The Zoo was really good, all of the enclosures were natural, meaning no cages all the perimeters were either big gorges or moats running around them. Had huge range of animals and plenty to see so spent almost 5hours there and then headed for the centre to do a little bit of shopping. That night we had an Italian for tea which was good and then we headed to the imphomus Orchard Towers or as it's more globally known as "The 4 floors of w****s". We went there for a few dirnks to watch the football and couldn't believe just how scummy and grotty it really was. Were expecting it to be like Thailand with girls hanging around outside which it sort of is but like a seedy cheaper version lol. We only watched the football then left and called it a night as planned on visiting Universal Studios the next day.
Again woke up nice and early the following day and headed for Sentosa Island in the South of Singapore where Universal Studios park is. The park was good, not a patch on any of the parks in Orlando but was still really good to see. Had a few rollercoasters that we rode about 12 times each lol. The whole day just made us want to be back in Orlando so hopefully if we travel the Americas then can maybe make a wee pit-stop haha. Sentosa Island had so much else we could have done aswell but just had no time. We did manage to visit the huge Hershey's shop however which as am sure you can imagine we were both in our element lol. So many Chocolate's and Sweetie's including the Worlds biggest commercially available Chocolate bar lol Shay didn't let me buy it :( lol! That night we headed for Clarke Quay which was meant to be really nice but quite pricey so were all suited and booted and headed over to enjoy a more pricier night. Was very nice to see and full of more upper class bars's and restaurants. We had a walk around trying to choose a place to eat for our last meal in Asia and can you guess where we ate??? Bet none of you guessed Hooters hahaha! That's right after 9months in Asia our last meal we had one of the best Western meals we could have possibely ever eaten haha. We both had Wings with sides of Mozzarella Sticks and Fried Pickles which were absolutley amazing, washed down with a few jars of ale and myself oggeling at all the very talented waiting staff the fine establishment hired haha. Brishay did manage to pry my gripping hands away from the table and left to have few more drinks at some of the bars. Prices were really expensive but was our last night so weren't too bothered and needed to get used to this as is what we are expecting Australia to be like price wise. One bar however that did look in our price range was a Burger King bar haha. Was an actually Burger King that instead of counters had a bar that could order alcohol along with your useall BK meal, i think i would have chose to eat there if Hooters wasn't here haha. Called it a night quite late on and headed back to Hostel to see if Old Man River was up to his old tricks again.... which he was haha.
Our flight the following night wasn't until 7pm so just chilled in Hostel most of the day, ventureing out for a Subway at one point. Then left 4pmish to get to Airport and leave Asia behind us to head for Melbourne 'mate'.
Asia has been absolutley amazing, has been 9months that both of us will never forget. Have had some amazing experience's, seen and met some wonderful people and are both quite sad at the thought of leaving. Too many highlights to mention but it has been an absolutle blast from when we started 9months ago in Dehli to now leaving from Singapore. Have still a fair list of places in Asia we both still want to see and another longer stay at the Cambodian Orphanage so am sure it wont be long until our next visit. Both feel it's time to move on now though and are super excited to see what Australia has in store for us.
Thank's for Having Us Asia! Here we Come Australia...
