Caitlin age 10
In the morning we woke up and the Jones family had a quick breakfast packed our bags then the children had a play on the trampoline and we were off.
When we arrived at the train station we said goodbyeto Russell and boarded our train wich we would stay on for an hour. When we arrived at Lancaster our train was 5 minutes late so we had to run for our next train ( the one we were catching was at 11:26 and if we missed it the next one was 13:26)! Luckily we managed to catch it even though it was on the other side of the bridge!! We only stayed on that one for about 15 minutes to go to Preston. When we arrived in Preston straight away we boarded our next train to York which we stayed on for 2 hours. When we arrived in York we had a pasty for lunch, everybody was starving by now because there hadn't been a food cart on the train. We caught a taxi to our apartment because we had no idea where it was! We arrived at our apartment around 2:00 and stayed there for about an hour then headed out to explore.
First we went to a very interesting museum on the Vikings that also told you about a local dig going on that you could take part in (unfortunately we didn't have time). We then visited a lovely place called The Shambles but all the shops and cafes were closed by now. Just beyond that was the smallest street in Britain called Whip-Ma-Whop-Ma-Gate!! Finally we got some food from the supermarket then headed home. After tea we played on the Playstation 2 then went to bed.

Nanna glad you enjoyed your day in York - I expect Daddy was glad you could not get into Betty's tea room the price is sky high for cream tea something like £50 or more - not so when I last visited.
