Well things are settling down a little now.
Yesterday I woke up early-ish and spent my morning checking my lesson, preparing part of my lesson plan for Friday, and surfing the internet.
My writing class that afternoon was not too bad, my students were really nice and they were very excited about all the magazines I took to class.
Their writing level was not as good as I was expecting, especially considering how high level the textbook is, so we have a lot of work to do!
After class I was very tired since I'd had a late night. I had a rest, then me and Rich went to the canteen. I had sweet potato and cabbage with rice it was yummy!!
I then spoke to dad on Skype, before tidying up my lesson plan and heading to bed.
As a side note, tidying up my lesson plan wasn't as easy as it sounds.
I've gone out to dinner with Frank lots of times.
I've been out to dinner with Frank lots of times.
Which one is right? Can anyone explain it using grammatical tenses? Because I can't find anyone yet who actually knows!
That night I didn't sleep so well, I had cockroach problems which made me very paranoid!
I woke up to my alarm this morning at 6:30am... I had a shower and was surprised I was actually a bit cold! And got all my stuff ready for my 8am then the following 10am lesson.
When I got to the room for my lesson, the classroom was empty except for two students who didn't speak English! I rang Lisa, who told me to try the original room for the lesson (there had been a room change), but when I got there it was completely empty!
I rang Lisa again and left her to sort it out. By 8:30am I was still sitting around. Lisa told me my class was supposed to call me on my mobile, but by 8:40am I had still heard nothing, and the first period was almost over, so she told me to go back to my apartment...
I stopped at the shop on the way home and bought some bits and pieces, I'm quite looking forward to porridge for breakfast :)
I went nearly straight back out again to my following writing lesson. This class went very similar to the one the day before, since the lesson plan was the same! Although the class was much quieter, they were also lovely!
After class, we arranged to go into town with Lisa at 3pm, so in the gap we met a senior student calld Grace, who was a friend of an American woman who was here last year called Ilene. Grace was very friendly, and told us about a restaurant on campus, so at Richard's suggestion we decided to go for dinner later that evening.
We met Lisa at 3pm and got a lift into town from her friend. We went to the bank and spent ages sorting out my traveller's cheques. Afterwards we walked into the main town, stopped in some supermarkets looking for a camera and adaptor for Richard, I bought cream cheese and tomato ketchup!!
We then tried a cake that Lisa recommended from a stall, which was very nice, and some fresh iced tea from a tea bar, before catching the bus back to campus.
Back on campus, we met Grace for dinner. The restaurant was vey good, and she ordered us some nice food including omelette!
She showed us some other shops on campus that we hadn't seen, before we called it a night and went back to the apartments.
