Departed Tusayan and Grand Canyon and drove to Flagstaff via the San Francisco Scenic Highway past the skiing areas of Humphreys Peak. We have been two days without internet so this blog entry covers three days. On Thursday we left Utah and moved into Arizona. It is not far from Mount Carmel Junction to Jacob Lake where we stayed that night. We arrived in the morning and too early for check in so we continued on to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. To get to Zion Canyon we took the Zion - Mount Carmel Highway which is an experience in itself. It has two tunnels, one of which is nearly 2km long and works its way along the edge of a cliff about 5 meters in from the sheer cliff. Alng the way are 'windows' to see out. We helped Glendon celebrate his 41st birthday last night with around 20 of his friends, neighbours and of course .. us. This morning we farewelled Glendon and Jacinda and headed off south to the canyons. It was a good long drive with a late picnic lunch at Panguitch and arrival at Bryce Canyon just after 3pm.
