Well here we are at the end of our hoiday, sitting in the airport at LAX waiting for the clock to turn and get on our plane for the long ride home. I have time to add one last blog with a few pictures from yesterday when we went to Disneyland.
I can confirm; Disneyland is for kids, and kids are accessories for bigger kids who want to enjoy kidsland again. There must have been noone in school yesterday as it was wall to wall kids - even saw a school excursion. Most of the rides we went on were categorised as 'tame' but we also had a couple of neck twisters just for the fun of it. The evening parde was the highlight and it was packed along the procession route as though it was royalty - and so it was for King Mickey & Queen Minnie.
Today we slept in and then explored the beaches at Manhatten and Redondo before arriving at Long Beach to see Queen Mary. I think we were dudded as the engine room was closed and what parts of the ship were open were commandered for some TV production. You may see me following around after a lot of good looking girls as part of a Miss America team competition. Its not often I have 20 pretty girls chasing me and screaming as though they were fans.
When we handed in the rental car I mentioned that we had been given a problem with it needing a service in the first few days. They knocked $100 off the charge and didn't charge for one way rental - a big saving and a nice way to end the holiday.
And all too soon its goodbye USA and hello Australia.
For those we have met and left behind in the US - many thanks especially to Larry & Sue and Glendon & Jacinda for your hospitality. Glen, we posted your books abck today. They should arraive by Christmas. Larry, hope today in LA was successful -too bad we couldn't meet somewhere.
And to those in Australia - hold the door, were coming!!!- comments
